7 Days Summer Spiti: Journey Through the Sunlit Valleys of the Himalayan Desert

Summer Spiti is an extraordinary journey through the rugged landscapes of the high-altitude desert in the Indian Himalayas. From June to September, Spiti comes alive with vibrant hues, clear skies, and pleasant weather, making it the ideal time for exploration. 


Dotted with ancient monasteries, traditional villages, and surreal terrains, Spiti offers an unforgettable experience for adventurers, culture enthusiasts, and nature lovers. The pristine rivers, towering mountains, and endless valleys give Spiti its otherworldly charm, while the warmth of the locals adds to the valley’s inviting atmosphere.

Itinerary

Day 0: Delhi to Shimla
  • The group assembles at the pick-up point.
  • We'll meet the team captains and a small tour briefing session will be conducted.
  • After which, we’ll head out on an overnight journey to Shimla.
Day 1: Shimla To Chitkul/Sangla
  • We will reach Shimla in morning around 8:30 AM.  The Spiti Expedition journey starts from here.
  • Long drive through the scenic beauty of Kinnaur via Narkanda and Rampur.
  • Travel along the Sutlej river till Karcham.
  • Arrive at Chitkul/Sangla in the evening and enjoy the stay for the night.
Day 2: Chitkul to Kalpa
  • After Breakfast, spend some time at leisure and check out.
  • Chitkul is the last Indian village towards the China border. Explore the best of it.
  • Next, you will be departing For Kalpa Reach Kalpa, by evening, check in to your stay and have dinner.
Day 3: Kalpa to Nako/Tabo
  • After Breakfast, spend some time at leisure and check out.
  • Wake up to the Kinner Kailash view. Visit the popular Suicide point and start your excursion back to Shimla.
  • Passing by Spiti River, enjoy the 360-degree view of the mesmerizing mountains.
  • Reach Nako/Tabo, by evening, check in to your stay, and have local Spiti cuisine.
Day 4: Nako/Tabo to Kaza
  • After Breakfast, spend some time at leisure and check out.
  • Head Towards Tabo and spend some peaceful time at the beautiful Tabo Old and New Monastery and know different stories by the Monks. After exploring Tabo, head towards the oldest monastery of the valley i.e. Dhankar Monastery. During this excursion, you will be confronted with Pin Valley, well known for its famous wildlife reserve.
  • Time to head toward the beautiful administrative town of Spiti Valley, Kaza.
Day 5: Kaza | Key Monastery | Kibber
  • After Breakfast, spend some time at leisure. Head towards Langza i.e. a high-altitude village known for ancient marine fossils.
  • Collect some fossils to take memories of nature home. After Langza head towards Hikkim i.e. At 4,400m above sea level.
  • It is known for being the home of the highest post office in the world.
  • You can send postcards to friends and family. After Hikkim, visit Komic Village i.e. a destination where you would see how heaven meets earth.
  • It is World's Highest motorable village and is situated at a height of 18000 ft above sea level.
  • Visit the spectacular Tibetan Buddhist Key Monastery located on a picturesque hilltop at an altitude of 4,166 meters above sea level.
Day 6: Chicham Bridge Chandra Taal Lake
  • Depart Kaza and head towards Chandratal Lake, crossing the scenic Kunzum Pass (4,590 meters).
  • After Breakfast, Check-Out and move towards Chicham Bridge.
  • Chicham Bridge is the highest bridge in Asia and allows you to have panoramic views.
  • Arrive at the breathtaking Chandratal Lake, also known as the "Moon Lake," and enjoy its pristine blue waters against the backdrop of towering peaks.
  • Settle in at your campsite near Chandratal/Batal/Losar and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Day 7: Manali | Depart for Delhi
  • After Breakfast, we leave for Manali via Kunzum La and get transferred to Delhi.
  • Reach Delhi by early morning on the following day with amazing memories and new friends.
  • Arrive in Delhi next morning i.e., 8th Day.

NOTE:   Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of participants etc. May cause itinerary change. We reserve the rights to change any schedule in the interest of safety, comfort and general wellbeing.

NOTE:   In case of a sudden snowfall, The Atal Tunnel can be shut by the authorities for traffic movement and in that case it won't be possible to travel to Sissu. In such a case, we will look to explore alternative sightseeing options as per feasibility.

NOTE:   The age limit of our group departures is 18 to 40 years due to the power packed itineraries that we provide to our travellers. We can customise trips for travellers beyond the mentioned age bracket.

Meals (6 Breakfasts and 6 Dinner) only in Stays.

Any expenses caused due to conditions beyond our control such as road blockage,road accidents, landslides (to be borne by the customer on the spot)
